Welcome to Maranatha and TriCity Seventh-day Adventist Churches!
It is our joy to introduce Dr. Jeffery L. Watson, who serves as pastor of our congregation in two locations. With more than 36 years of pastoral ministry, Dr. Watson has dedicated his life to helping people experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ through biblical preaching, compassionate pastoral care, and intentional discipleship.
A native of Columbus, Mississippi, and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Watson answered God’s call to ministry as a young man. Since then, he has faithfully served churches throughout Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee, leading congregations in spiritual growth, evangelism, leadership development, and community outreach.
Dr. Watson is a graduate of Oakwood University and has earned advanced degrees from Southern Adventist University, Amridge University, and Northwestern Theological Seminary. His passion for lifelong learning enhances his ministry in preaching, family life, leadership development, and biblical conflict resolution.
In addition to serving Maranatha and TriCity, Dr. Watson is the Associate Ministerial Director for the South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, where he mentors pastors and supports churches throughout the conference.
Above all, Dr. Watson believes that the church should be a place where everyone can experience God’s grace, discover their purpose, and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church, or looking for a church family, you will find a warm welcome here.
Dr. Watson and his wife, Marilyn, have shared over four decades of marriage and ministry together. They count it a privilege to serve this church family and would love the opportunity to meet you personally.
